Metal Amore's Easy-to-Use

CREATIVE BUILDING BLOCKS

Create the Designs of Your Imagination

Many homeowners and artists are understandably overwhelmed with the over 20,000 components that the Metal Amore showroom has to choose from. Following the basic steps below will help simplify the design process so that you can begin creating your personal masterpiece today.

1. Determine the size of your opening. For the Garden Gate, we measured the height, width and area of the top arch. For stair or railing projects measure the height and width of each area. Consult your local building codes for specifications on stair and railings. Example: Current code for stairs requires no opening larger than 4"for safety.

2. Decide on the bar stock you would like to use. Our bar products come in square or round hammered, square straight and square or round with Tree Bark design just to name a few. The type of bar generally determines the style your finished project will achieve. For example many Tuscan designs use our hammered bar stock.

3. Decide on the inner look you would like to achieve. We have many design books in our Showroom for you to view. These samples of beautiful completed projects will provide you with some great ideas to help get you started.

4. Decide on the framing material - type and size. Many people use Hammered Tube or Hammered Solid Bar.The Hammered Tube makes the gate lighter, but the Hammered Solid Bar gives the gate more stability. Either of these products are available in a variety of sizes ranging from 1/2" square to 4"square.

5. Determine if your project will need to be attached with hinges, such as the garden gate. The size of opening will vary depending on the size of hinge needed. Your fabricator will have expert knowledge on this important decision.

6. Choose a location in our Showroom to begin physically designing your project. Using the interior dimensions that you measured earlier, layout an actual size framework of your design.

7. Fill in the frame until you have your desired design. We stock Latex Gloves for your use in this phase of the design process.

8. Now that you have everything arranged in our Showroom it's time to take a picture of your creation.

Metal Amore has an extensive list of fabricators and artists throughout Greater San Diego County that we would be glad to refer to those homeowners who choose not to fabricate their own project.
